Greetings from Southland!

I am a Registered Nurse and work for the Southland District Health Board based in Invercargill as a part-time Clinical Nurse Specialist in Wound Care covering both primary and secondary health care sectors. My passion for wound care was nurtured as a new-graduate in 1991 at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and has continued throughout my nursing career in different fields. I am an active Committee member of the NZ Wound Care Society and Co-ordinate the Leg Ulcer Working Group and am Area Co-ordinator for the Southland Region. Nursing is an exciting profession that is supportive of nurses advancing their scope of practice. I have been fortunate to be involved in developing and operating an outpatient nurse-led wound clinic at Southland Hospital that supports advanced nursing practice. I am currently studying on-line through Monash University in Melbourne towards my Wound Care Diploma. My nursing philosophy is to remain positive, patient-focused and passionate about what I do!

Lastly but most importantly I am married to an awesome man and we have two wonderful boys!
